Written around 2004. Sam wrote this song and recorded it on a solo EP. Dave liked it so much he convinced Sam to re-record it for this release.
lyrics
Sometimes I wish I was a manatee
Sometimes I don't wish I was a manatee
Manatees don't play guitars
I like to play guitars
If I was a manatee
I'd ignore humanity
And play tag with my friends the dolphins
I won't mind I'll lose all the time
It seems so obvious to me
That dolphins are way faster than manatees
Sometimes I wish I was a manatee
Sometimes I don't wish I was a manatee
Manatees don't play guitars
I like to play guitars
If I was a manatee
I'd bring along a golf tee
And try to play golf in the sea
I'd miss rollin' on my dubs
And probly forget my golf clubs
Crap! Manatees have bad memories
Muncha, muncha muncha muncha muncha
I eat sea lettuce
Cruncha cruncha cruncha cruncha cruncha
But not sea cucumbers
Sometimes I wish I was a manatee
Sometimes I don't wish I was a manatee
Manatees don't play guitars
I like to play guitars
